Career Development
EKUBusiness offers many professional development opportunities for business students that will enhance their educational experience and provide a discipline-specific focus to career development goals.
-
The
Professional
Skills Conference provides a setting in
which students have the opportunity to hear professionals
share their views about critical skills that new graduates
need in order to succeed in the real world. Each year,
students who are enrolled in College of Business and
Technology 300- and 400-level courses attend the conference,
which began in 1997. Graduating seniors also attend
the corporate-style luncheon where they have the opportunity
to meet and network with area employers and meet distinguished
EKU alumni.

-
The Distinguished Speaker Series brings accomplished executives to campus each fall to share their insights directly with students.

-
Cooperative
Education and internships allow students to work directly in their field through the largest cooperative education program in Kentucky.
- Professionally affiliated student organizations give our students the opportunity to develop leadership characteristics.
-
Career days and other career development opportunities, such as resume preparation, mock interviews, and shadowing, are provided by EKU Career Services.
-
Attendance at professional conferences expose students to working professionals in their field.
-
Tours of business and industry sites also give students a birds eye view of how different sectors function in real time.
- Students are engaged and mentored by faculty advisors and student/faculty relationships are further developed through collaborative projects.
